The Australian Glass & Glazing Association Inc. (AGGA) in its earliest form was created in the early 1900's with the aim of bringing together the Australian flat glass industry and representatives of the main industry groups.

Objectives:

  • To promote and encourage the trade and business interests of members of the AGGA and of the persons engaged in or connected with the industry of manufacturing, selling, or dealing in flat glass products including safety glass, and to take concerted action in matters affecting the same.

  • To act as a consultative and advisory body and to collect, co-ordinate and give expression to views upon all subjects and matters which may affect the glass and glazing industry as a whole.

  • To co-ordinate and assist the activities of all State Glass Merchants' Associations which are members of this Association. To arrange appropriate sub-committee meetings to discuss areas of concern.

  • To promote efficiency, economy and improved conditions for its members in the glass and glazing industry.

  • To provide a format for members to meet regularly for wide ranging discussions on all matters affecting the glass and glazing industry.

  • To print, publish, issue and circulate such advertisements, periodicals, books, circulars, leaflets and other literary productions as may seem conducive to the interest of the glass and glazing industry.

  • To promote and hold exhibitions and demonstrations and to initiate, carry out and support any form of publicity designed to further the interests of the glass and glazing industry.

  • To promote and encourage uniformity in the safety standards of glass and glazing within the industry. To provide industry delegates to attend appropriate meetings of Standards Australia.

  • To provide a means of advocacy to Governments and related parties on behalf of the glass and glazing industry in all matters, other than labour relations and import tariffs matters.
