2013 Update - Funding for business training
If you haven't set your training goals for 2013 now is the time to get started. Training will provide your team members with the skills to be more effective in their roles, and most importantly, motivate and inspire them for the working year ahead.
These course are designed for employees looking to gain a qualification to back up their experience, and can also be great for new employees that need a few extra skills to work effectively in your team. The flexible delivery options allows staff to study with minimal impact on their busy home and work lives. Course are available Online, Class (only 1 day per month for 7 months), or in Private Class format.
Other Training Opportunities
There are currently a number of funding opportunities to allow your business to train staff at ZERO cost or LOW cost to gain a Nationally Recognised Qualification.
1. New Entrant & Existing Workers Traineeship. This funding covers up to $3,000 of course costs, but there are some eligibility criteria (e.g. business owners are not eligible for this funding)
2. Experience Plus: This funding is available to those 50 years and older. This funding can cover 100%+ of course costs.
3. User Choice (New Entrant): Courses under this funding attract an upfront employer contribution of only $950. This funding can be used in conjunction with other funding types to maximise your training budget.
4. STRATEGIC SKILLS PROGRAM (SSP) Funding: This funding provides an option for those students that are not eligible for other funding options.
NEW SSP FUNDING FOR TRAINING IN NSW
SSP funding is for all employees including casual, part-time including employees that are already Degree or Diploma qualified and also Business Owners. It is only available for a limited time, Successful places will be allocated to our preferred supplier Upskilled based on requirements for your existing workers.
EXISTING WORKERS:The Existing Worker component of the program is a joint Australian Government, NSW Government and Industry initiative to raise the skill level of the people already in the workforce to address the skill demands placed on industry sectors. The new training places will lead to high-level nationally endorsed qualifications, at the Certificate IV level and Diploma level. It is ideal for WHS training programs for city and regional members.

FUNDING:
The training costs will be met through an Australian/State Government/Industry partnership. Your company will be required to contribute a minimum enrolment fee: Certificate IV $958, or Diploma $1,274 (set by the Government).
