One of AGGA’s key roles is to grow the Glass and Glazing market. for the benefit of members and industry. Today the opportunities facing our industry are bigger than ever. Industry has the potential to grow by $2billion at glass wholesale prices (not including glazing) over the next five to seven years just through energy efficient glass alone. These opportunities need to be driven. The AGGA has a detailed plan, the core of which was to appoint a new Executive Director Elect to work with the AGGA team to vigorously engage with Governments both federal and state, the AWA, HIA, MBA, green groups, builders, architects and many other key organizations. Another major focus is the Sustainable Windows Australia (SWA) project which will provide AGGA with the tools and information to further strengthen the argument for energy efficient glass and its benefits. This will ensure glass and glazing is recognised as the key building solution for an energy efficient future. Importantly, this new structure will also give the AGGA the facilities and ability to properly address Accreditation/Licensing of Glaziers, training, as well as the long overdue Standards and Technical issues. Further, the new structure will provide much more vigorous support to the State Associations. For the last 12 years, the AGGA has been led to the strong position it is in today by great management assisted by many volunteers - Presidents and leaders, participants of sub-groups such as the State Presidents, Energy Sub Committee, IGMA, and Standards Committees. It is time to raise the bar. |
