Double Glazing
IGMA is the organisation which represents Australian manufacturers of Insulating Glass Units (IGU's), more commonly known as Double Glazed Units (DGUs).
IGUs are becoming increasingly important in the Australian glazing landscape. They constitute a greater initial cost than single glazed windows, but their ability to modify the environment is dramatic.

In an era of more stringent energy regulations, and in which consumers are demanding superior performance and comfort from their glazing, the use of Insulating Glass Units (IGUs)[link to double glazing information] is on the rise.
Also known as double glazing, IGUs offer improved energy and thermal performance over single glazing, and are one of the best ways to improve the comfort of your home or building while retaining views and natural light.
Representing Australian manufacturers and suppliers of IGUs, the Insulating Glass Manufacturers Association (IGMA) plays an active role in the industry to develop the standard required of IGUs, educate industry on best practice manufacturing techniques and to ensure that quality and installation procedures are understood and adhered to.
When purchasing IGUs, consumers should ask whether their manufacturer or supplier is an IGMA member; all IGMA members are committed to supplying only the highest quality insulating glass products that are compliant with standard AS/NZS4666.
IGMA Objectives- To promote insulated glass units as an economical and effective means to meeting mandatory energy regulations and reducing greenhouse gas emissions
- To represent manufacturers and suppliers of insulated glass units who demonstrate compliance with the new Standard AS4666 when approved
- To provide an industry voice and participate in lobbying to government, business and standards bodies on relevant issues.
